Celebrating Dynamic Women: My Experience as a Tour Manager with Refinery 29's World Tour, 29 Rooms

In 2019, I had the honor of working as a tour manager with Refinery 29's 29 Rooms world tour. This immersive art experience featured and celebrated female artists from around the world, showcasing their diverse and powerful voices. As a tour manager, I managed a staff of 80 people and helped them work at the event, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. I was also there for build and teardown and oversaw that all the art was carefully rebuilt exactly the way it was meant to be seen, in all 7 cities we toured. I was inspired by the art and the artists themselves, and I came away from the experience with a renewed appreciation for the creativity and power of women.

Throughout the tour, I saw firsthand how dynamic and empathetic women can be when expressing themselves through their art. The pieces showcased at the event were not only visually stunning, but they also explored important themes and ideas, from body positivity to cultural diversity. As a true advocate of women, their voices being heard, and them rising to be the true individuals who can see and celebrate their true gifts, I was thrilled to see such a powerful platform for female artists and to be exposed to new perspectives on the female experience.

One of the highlights of my experience was working with the artists themselves. Each artist brought their own unique vision and energy to their work, and it was inspiring to see them collaborate and create together. It was a true pleasure for me to ensure that their artistic visions were realized and that they had everything they needed to bring their work to life.

Another aspect of the tour that I loved was the community that it fostered. It was amazing to see people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures coming together to celebrate the power and creativity of women. I was proud to be a part of an event that promoted inclusivity and diversity, and I believe that it was an important step in helping to create a more equitable and just society.

In conclusion, my experience as a tour manager with Refinery 29's 29 Rooms world tour was truly transformative. Working with such dynamic and talented women, and seeing the impact that their work had on audiences around the world, was a powerful reminder of the importance of elevating women's voices and perspectives.

The tour was not just about showcasing beautiful and thought-provoking art installations, but it also created a space for dialogue and connection. I witnessed firsthand how people would engage in meaningful conversations with strangers, sharing their personal stories and perspectives. This type of exchange helped break down barriers and promote understanding and empathy. Moreover, the tour emphasized the need to support and uplift women in all fields. From artists and designers to activists and entrepreneurs, women’s contributions to society cannot be ignored. By highlighting their work and giing them a platform to showcase their talents, the tour played a vital role in empowering women and promoting gender equality. Overall, my time with 29 Rooms was an unforgettable experience that taught me the importance of creativity, community, and inclusivity. It inspired me to continue to push for positive change in my own life and in the world around me. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this incredible tour and the impact it will continue to have on audiences worldwide.
